An imaginary interview with the Dr. Peter J. D ´ Adamo

Dr. D ´Adamo what world you say about your idea the connection between the blood type and the healthy´s people and biochemical individuality?

Your blood type is the key that unlocks the door to the mysteries of health, disease, longevity, physical vitality, and emotional strength. Your blood type determines your susceptibility to illness, which foods you should eat, and how you should exercise. It is a factor in your energy levels, in the efficiency with which you “burn” calories, in your emotional response to stress, and perhaps even in your personality.

Them, the blood type reflect your internal chemistry and determine the way you absorb nutrients?

Yes, I believed that no two people on the face of the earth were alike; no two people have the same fingerprints or voice print. Because I felt that all people were different from one another. The only way to maintain health or cure illness was to accommodate to that particular patient’s specific needs. The connection between blood type and diet may sound radical, but it is not. There had to be a reason why there were so many paradoxes in dietary studies and disease survival.

Then your work is an extension of the recent groundbreaking findings concerning human DNA?

For this job, we’ll need this type connection. Our understanding of blood type takes the science of genetics. There is no right or wrong lifestyle or diet; there are only right or wrong choices to be made based on our individual genetic codes. My father set about testing this theory by blood-typing his patients and observing individualized reaction when they were prescribed different diets.

For exempla, what happen with my blood type A?

The patients who were Type A seemed to do poorly on high-protein diets that included generous portions of meat, but did very well on vegetable proteins such as soy and tofu. Dairy products tended to produce copious amounts of mucous discharge in the sinuses and respiratory passages of Type As. When told to increase their levels of physical activity and exercise, Type As usually felt fatigued and unwell; when they performed lighter forms of exercise, such as yoga, they felt alert and energized.

Ok…and the Type O?

On the other hand, Type O patients thrived on high-protein diets, and they felt invigorated by intense physical activities, such as jogging and aerobics. Inspired by this my father condensed his observation and dietary recommendations with the sentence: “one man’s food is another man’s poison”.

And you are doctor internist, but with specialized naturopathic?

Yes, I was in my third year of naturopathic studies at Seattle’s John Bastyr College. The complete alternative physician. And I waited for an opportunity to research my father’s blood type theory.

What is the name of your book about these facts?

The name of my book is: “ Eat Right 4 Your Type”; then, I will teach you about the fundamental relationship between your blood type and the dietary and lifestyle choices that will help you live at your very best. Your blood type-O, A, B, or AB- is a powerful genetic fingerprint that identifies you as surely as your DNA.

What is this remarkable factor, the blood type?

Blood type is one of several medically recognized variations, much like hair and eye color. Forensic scientists and criminalists, as well as those who research the causes and cures of disease use many of these facts. I realize that this is probably a completely new idea for you. But I ask you to do only this thing: find out your blood type and your Blood Type Diet for at least two weeks. Most of my patients experience some results within that time period – increased energy, weight loss, a lessening of digestive complaints, and improvement of chronic problems such as asthma, headaches, and heartburn.

Please which is the summary of the diets?

Ok, but for a detailed plan of diet you must read my book. Type 0 (the hunter). Highly beneficial: beef, lamb, liver, veal, but avoid: bacon, ham, pork. Seafood beneficial: bluefish, salmon, sardine, and mackerel but avoid barracuda, catfish, caviar, and octopus. And Type Os should severely restrict their use of dairy products: eggs. American cheese, yogurt. But Soymilk and soy cheese are excellent. Be sure, however, to take a daily calcium supplement. And also olive oil but not corn oil. Highly beneficial: pumpkin seed and walnuts, but avoid: peanuts and pistachios. Highly beneficial: beans pinto but avoid bean copper and lentils red. Please, avoid cornflakes, farina and pasta semolina and pasta spinach, but highly beneficial essence bread. For Type 0, several classes of vegetables cause big problems, only highly beneficial: broccoli, chicory, lettuce, and onions red, garlic. Highly beneficial: prunes and plums red, but avoid, pineapple, prune; but avoid: melon, oranges, coconuts, blackberries and strawberries. And there are no highly beneficial condiments for Type O, and also coffee and soda.

Type A (the cultivator. In many ways, Type A is the exact opposite of Type O. Type A have low stomach-acid content-an adaptation of their ancestors who survived on an agrarian diet. Type A should eliminate all meats from their diet. All recommended seafood, but avoid: bacon, beef, and ham pork, rabbit. Highly beneficial: Soya cheese and soy milk, olive oil, peanuts, beans black and green; amaranth, rice and wheat bread, pasta, and vegetables are vital to the Type A diet and should eat fruit three times a day, but avoid bananas, mangoes, melon, oranges, papayas and tomato. Mustard is the sole condiment that is beneficial for Type As. Also green tea, ginseng, and coffee.
