NASA and the Moon Program

February 2010, NASA canceled the Constellation program, which would have returned astronauts to the Moon sometime after 2020, in favour of a larger role for private industry in manned spaceflight.

Future unmanned probes will provide never-before-seen close-up views of Pluto and the largest asteroids.

Satellite observatories will improve upon the capabilities of the famed Hubble Space Telescope to search for Earthlike planets and the earliest galaxies.

With the rise of space tourism, spaceflight will no longer be the exclusive province of rigorously trained astronauts.
